There are many alternate forms of transport available to get to Dinner Plain, including trains, buses, coaches and taxis. Once you're on the mountain there is also shuttle bus services to get you around.
Train / Bus
The Snowball Express provides a link between Melbourne and Mount Hotham. It is a coach that stops at various places along the way to pick up passengers to bring to Mount Hotham, it picks up from Southern Cross Station (Spencer St), Melbourne Airport, Myrtleford, Bright, Harrietville, Mount Hotham and Dinner Plain. You can also map out a plan to travel up via V-Line, starting off in Melbourne and switching to a coach at Seymour which takes you to Bright. From Bright you can catch the Omeo-Bright Alpine Bus Link which runs during summer and winter. Shuttle Bus Services
A daily shuttle bus operates between Dinner Plain and Hotham over the winter season with resort entry payable for trips to Hotham with a night service also operating on selected evenings.

Dinner Plain Hotham Shuttle Bus Service (Day)
Christian's Bus Company operates the shuttle bus service between Dinner Plain and Hotham. Bookings are not necessary and tickets may be purchased from the driver or selected outlets within Dinner Plain Village.
Resort entry is payable for trips into Hotham Alpine Resort:
Adult - $15.00
Child U16 - $7.50
Family (2A+2C) - $30.00
Under 6 / Over 65 - Free

Useful Information
- Be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes prior to departure
- Try to have correct change for purchase of your ticket
- Adverse weather road / weather conditions may affect timetable
- Departures from Cuff 'n Collar Lane and Halter Lane take place approximately 5 minutes before Dinner Plain departure times listed below
- Departures from Big D take place approximately 2 minutes after Hotham departure times listed below
- For faster equipment retrieval memorise the hire number or identity of your skis as they are stored in the underfloor bins for transport
- For a more efficient journey remember your bus stop number and advise the driver when boarding for your return journey

Alps Bus Link - Omeo to Bright
Visitors to Victoria’s North East can take advantage of the Alps Bus Link operating between Omeo and Bright on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the summer and winter months.
The service also links up with V-Line services operating from Wangaratta and Bairnsdale.
The Alps Bus Link assists local residents and visitors across Omeo and its district, Dinner Plain, Mt Hotham, Harrietville and Bright to access a range of activities at the snow fields, as well as education and training, shopping, medical, essential services, sport and recreational opportunities in the wider region.

Hoys Booking Service can help organise transport from Melbourne, Albury, Bright, Harrietville and the airports. Most people travel to Dinner Plain and Hotham Alpine Resort by car through Harrietville.
If you are travelling by bus or 4WD taxi, leave your car in the Hoys security carpark.
