Car Permits

Cars are not required to pay a fee for entry into Dinner Plain.

Resort Gate Entry:

There is no Hotham resort gate entry fee if you are planning to drive to, park up and your car is going to stay put in Dinner Plain during your stay.  If you plan to drive to Hotham to ski you will be required to pay daily Hotham resort gate entry.  To purchase a ticket to park your car at Hotham please go to

If you're going to catch the shuttle bus to Hotham, your gate entry fee is subsidised by Alpine Shire Council, all you need to pay is your bus fare.  Click here for fare information and a bus timetable.

Dog Permit

There are many dog friendly accommodation options at Dinner Plain.

Any of the accommodation booking services can assist with finding you something suitable.

Before you bring your dog to Dinner Plain, you are required to ensure that you have

(1) your dog registered at with your local Council

(2) you have acquired a permit from Alpine Shire Council to have your dog at Dinner Plain (as per Local Law # 3 - Dinner Plain).

For an application form is available from Council's website. Please purchased your dog permit prior to arrival at Dinner Plain. No other pets are permitted in Dinner Plain. Please ensure you keep your dog on a leash and pick up after your dog.

Car Parking

Please park in designated areas at your accomodation and around the village. Fines will be issued for vehicles parked in no standing areas.

- DP Hut: Day parking only

- Scrubbers End: Permits are required for overnight parking

- Permits must be obtained from your accomodation provider and displayed when your vehicle is parked at Scrubbers End.
