Rides Not To Be Missed

Whatever type of bike you ride, you'll find great rides waiting in Dinner Plain. Explore our family-friendly rides on the shared trails in the village, our gravel explorations on The Brabralung Trail, our epic road cycling climbs along The Great Alpine Road, and of course, our loamy alpine dirt at the Dinner Plain Mountain Bike Park. Our two-wheeled alpine-summer adventures are so addictive, you'll be back for more.

Road Cycling

The Great Alpine Road, the highest bitumen through-road in Australia is a great place for incredibly scenic road cycling sessions in summer, particularly for those competitive riders wishing to engage in altitude training.

Easy

A simple ride between Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham is a great way to experience alpine cycling without slogging it out on the extreme climbs. Enjoy a 24km-return pedal along the iconic Great Alpine Road, with gentle undulations.

Difficult

For riders looking for a seriously intense challenge, choose one of the 7 Peaks climbs. Dinner Plain is the perfect base to ride either the Omeo to Dinner Plain climb or the Harrietville to Hotham climb.

Gravel

For a seriously enjoyable gravel ride, explore The Brabralung Trail from Dinner Plain to Mount Hotham. The 26km-return ride takes you along a purpose-build gravel shared path with beautiful views along undulating terrain. The trail is best ridden between November and May. When the snow falls, The Brabralung Trail becomes a groomed cross-country ski trail.
